It’s such a simple thought, but somehow one of the easiest things to forget.
We wait. We overthink. We worry about what other people might think. We convince ourselves there will be a better time, another opportunity, another version of ourselves that will finally be ready.
But what if this is it?
You Got This 1 Life, Right? was created in New Orleans in 2025 as a little reminder to live the life that is actually yours. Take the chance. Make the art. Go somewhere new. Change your mind. Start over. Do the thing you keep telling yourself you’ll do someday.
The piece itself carries that same idea of giving something another life. Created using recycled art, acrylic paint, thrifted rubber, and a thrifted gold frame dating back to 1992, it brings together materials that already existed and turns them into something entirely new.
The imperfections, history, and previous lives of those materials aren't something I wanted to hide — they're part of the work.
This is a one-of-one original. There will never be another exactly like it.
