Oswald came from one of those moments that was terrifying for a second and hilarious once everything was okay.
I found my orange Sphynx cat, Oswald, hiding inside the washing machine — thankfully, right before I turned it on. It was a scary little household moment, but also one of those reminders of how wonderfully unpredictable life with pets can be. I ended up creating a small series inspired by it.
This particular painting also holds another memory for me. One of my favorite DJs, Mike O’Leary, inspired many evenings of painting in my living room and out on my balcony, usually with smooth R&B playing in the background. When he came to D.C., I gifted him the original Oswald painting as my way of giving something back and honoring the atmosphere his music had created while I made my own art.
Now, Oswald gets to live on as a framed and signed print.
Each print is produced through Printful and sent to me first. I personally inspect and sign it before sending it on to you. It adds an extra step to the journey, but I want each one to have passed through my hands before it reaches yours.
Unlike some of my numbered limited editions, Oswald will simply be available until he isn’t anymore.
