ABOUT THE PRINTS

3 min read about the production process.

Every print begins as an original piece of art created by me.

Once a painting is finished, I take the original to a local photographer who specializes in photographing artwork. The piece is professionally photographed and carefully converted into a high-resolution digital file — a process that takes about a week and costs approximately $150 for each individual artwork before a single print is ever made.

From there, I'm particular about who I trust to reproduce my work. A print should still feel like art, not simply a copy of it. I want the colors, texture, depth, and character of the original to carry through onto paper — and ultimately, I want you to receive something worthy of keeping for a very long time.

Currently, my prints are produced by a wonderful independent printer in New Orleans who works out of her backyard studio, surrounded by thousands of paper options. After experimenting with the choices, I've settled on a beautiful matte, museum-grade paper that gives my work the finish and quality I want as an artist.

And then your print comes back to me.

Before it makes its way to you, I personally sign every print and include a handwritten message. Nothing is shipped directly from a fulfillment warehouse to your door. I want my hands to be the last ones on the artwork before it becomes yours.

Each artwork is limited to 100 prints total. Once those 100 are gone, that edition is closed.

Because the work travels from the printer in New Orleans to me in Washington, DC, and then from me to you, please allow approximately 2–4 weeks for your order to arrive. It isn't the fastest way to make prints, but I'm much more interested in making something special than making something fast.

Prints arrive unframed, giving you the freedom to choose a frame, mat, and style that make the piece feel at home in yourspace.

Some of my paintings are also available as one-of-one original works and will never be reproduced as prints. When that's the case, you'll see it clearly noted with the piece.

Made from an original. Printed with intention. Signed by the artist. Limited to 100. Made to stay with you.
